Ambeth Ocampo, who has been National Historical Institute Chairman for some time, was elected Chairman of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts. He’s accepted. Here’s wishing him well in a very difficult job.

oh wow! really?
it’s nice to hear that. he was my history teacher in college
and he’s very intelligent and so into philippine history & culture
indeed.
i also wish him luck.
I hope I can get a copy of his Inquirer column’s compilation Rizal without the Overcoat… It is just fun to read, to see the more humane and realistic side of Rizal’s personality. Ambeth is no chismoso, just unconventional and not boring, like the many writters who are over superficial with “praise-be-Rizal” writings… Wah! No wonder he got the chair…
hey! i think ambeth is agreat writer.pls help me find one of his articles related to rizal that he wrote in the year 2005.i really need it badly.pls pls pls.thank you!
