Easy for you to opine about terrorism, MLQ3. But Iraq’s terrorism is political. Would you like to trade places with all the Angelos scattered in Iraq? Your lolo even had to flee during the war. What business do we have being in Iraq anyway?
I am sorry to disagree with you Arnel, I am also an OFW, but my going here is not by choice and if I would ever have that I will not have come here, but I have to. Yes, there was a time when going abroad is for greener pasture, but today we have to accept that we brought ourselves here for better chance of survival.
As for the current problem, yes we could have encountered similar problem, but this happened and will happen even more because of our govt.’s support and to go side by side with the U.S., a stance, I am sure does not have the support of most of us Filipinos.
It is not just for our safety but also for the peace of mind of our families back home.
Blaming the government in the event of (God forbid!) the killing of an innocent OFW in Iraq is like blaming God for the acts of the devil. (Although, obviously, we cannot exactly equate the government with God, I do equate those raving, cowardly terrorists to be the devil, heheheh…)
It still disturbs me that Spain did give in to the terrorists’ demands.
If I’ll have my way, kill the all the terrorists and the NPAs! But then again, all I could do is to be angry and wish I learned pangkukulam/voodoo so I could deal with them without the misfortune of knowing them, hah!
Earth calling My Brain… Your blood pressure is too high.
TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE BLAMING THE GOVT FOR EVERY PROBLEM THAT OFW’S HAVE ENCOUNTERED, I SAY THIS.
AS AN OFW , WE HAVE A CHOICE TO GO OR NOT TO GO
ABROAD IN SEARCH OF GREENER PASTURES. ONCE WE MADE
OUR CHOICE TO GO ABROAD WE ARE AWARE AND PREPARED FOR THE CONSEQUENCES. WE ACCEPT THE RISKS / BENEFITS OF GOING ABROAD. SO PLEASE STOP USING US
IN YOUR CRUSADE AGAINST THE GOVT, (PURO NEGATIBO LANG ANG INYONG IPINAGLALANDAKAN, BAKIT DI NINYO RIN SABIHIN IYONG MGA POSITIBO KATULAD NG PAGIGING INSTRUMENTO NG OFW SA MATATAG NA EKONOMIYA.INSTEAD CHANNEL YOUR ENERGIES IN HELPING TO CREATE JOB OPPURTUNITIES IN THE PHILS.
Thanks, I stand corrected on the Japanese.
You say the Japanese and Koreans failed to get their hostages released. The japs actually did get their 3 hostages released, sadly the Koreans failed.
