Chances are JV Ejercito has withdrawn from the Senate race to defend the Estrada’s bailiwick of San Juan. The reason he’s given, though, might put pressure on Koko Pimentel, but probably not.
One paper reports Joker Arroyo and Ralph Recto have signed on to the President’s pet party. Other papers aren’t so sure. Oh well. So much for the “third force”!
Alhough Binay is saying the right things,
“The opposition candidates are firm in the commitment to defend the independence of the Senate, fight for the Constitution, stop political killings and work for an equitable economic growth,” said Binay.
The Inquirer editorial warns of hidden agendas for the administration and opposition candidates. Tough questions concerning the prominence of the NPC in the administration, most of all.

Is this another example of “Filipino Time”? Waiting until the last minute to file candidacy?
Or is this a “fairytale”, where each candidate is hoping that prince charming will pick them?
If ever the Constitution gets changed to unicameral parliamentary, Danding (or his annointed) is in a good position to become Prime Minister. Of course, Gloria Arroyo is already thinking up ways to betray Danding, but i don’t think the latter is as stupid as JDV. Such an approach has a limited shelf-life.
Kudos to Erap and JV for their willingness to ‘sacrifice’. Or is this just a move to prevent in-family squabblings in San Juan?
i don’t see JV’s exit as any big deal. i don’t see it as a “sacrifice”. but i think it’s a good call on JV’s part.
so there’s no need for a third force after all. the UNO slate is turning out to be what everyone hoped it would be.
if erap is really the one who picked the UNO slate then that says a lot about him especially if you compare his picks to Gloria’s chosen slate. Come to think of it Erap’s cabinet was far superior to any gloria ever had. And if you’re going to talk about Erap’s midnight cabinet, well Gloria’s is not too far behind considering that Chavit and some famous smugglers and jueteng lords are likewise welcome in her inner circle.

As I write this Kiko Pangilinan was on TV telling they have not decided yet. If I were UNO, I wouldn’t wait for their decision. Let them go to GMA. They belong to each other.

Whatever the reason, i am grateful to Erap and JV for making way for Sonia Roco. It is also just logical for anyone who has previously been commenting here on the need for third force candidates, to welcome such a development. (Hindi ba, Ca T? )
I also agree with Estrada when he said “The political dynasty issue is a false issue†At this point, that’s a red herring. The real issue for this elections is Gloria Arroyo’s legitimacy.

I believe that there is still the third force but not as a party. The members are hitching rides with coalition that could provided them with the necessary funding for campaign.

The senatorial slates are not drawn by the political leaders.
They are dictated by the rich businessmen who see to it that their interests are not invested in one political party.

Good observation..Gloria is using a third party to do this “betrayal”. The third party is actually to blame for the so-called “movements†in NPC (Sotto, Oreta, Gomez, etc.). The person is close to the NPC but is not w/ the NPC. He is sly.

Yes to Ca T, There is indeed a third Force. Danton Remoto decided to run for senator since Ang LadLad was not accredited for party list. We advised him not to join any party and is therefore an independent candidate. Danton will be using the Ang Ladlad machinery which was originally intended for party list.
So that mean Im have no choice but to lift my personal boycott of senate election….
Of course Danton will be on my number one list. Th erest I have not decided.

Im inclined to vote for Trillanes, I believe he has a very genuine cause just like Danton.
Im been thinking of Sonia Roco. Although I am a big fan of Raul Roco. But there is a big question in my mind. What has she got aside from being the wife of Raul Roco.
Noynoy Aquino? I wanted to vote for him earlier but mmmmmm never mind. He is just boring me to death! Ayoko sana ng masyadong maingay na katulad ni Mike Defensor, Chiz at Alan. But my gosh. Sobra naman yatang tahimik etong so Noynoy!
I think Danding Cojuangco will be teh real winner in this coming election. He has candidates in both side.
And I will be voting for his nephew Gilbert Teodoro. I believe he is more qualified than Coco Pimentel.Becuase he serev as congressman for 3 terms while Coco did not even won an election even in his home town. Kahit nag mayor hindi pinanalo.
BTW Gilbert and Coco are both Top 1 in the bar exams.

What’s the big deal with Kiko? Sooner or later, people will realize that he is just like Recto whose winnability depends on the luster of their wives.
It’s really embarassing that the current administration has belittled showbiz personalities when the Fake One ran against FPJ…but look at them, in the company (or trying to be in the company) of: Richard Gomez and Cesar Montano.
Recto has authored relevant bills passed as laws compared to some grandstanding senators.

In the bios of some senators, the bills authored are not listed down because there are none, if ever there are they were merely for nationalization of some schools and public roads which even a “caveman” can approve with little of the brain input.
Loi Ejercito was elected on the strength of her husband’s popularity. Looking at her accomplishments in the Senate, she had authored quite lots of bills and had hardly absented herself.
I am for a silent worker than big-mouthed nosy-media attention obsessed legislators.
These are the reasons why I am not judgmental of any commenters…..kahit na medyo nakasagutan minsan… wala yun..sa bahay gayan din tayo.
Kung minsan medyo nalabuan ako ke rego,….me times din naman me sense sya…
